MICHELIN CrossClimate 2 REIFENBEWERTUNG

Good grip and dealt well driving through snow and ice in January.

I had high expectations given the results these have achieved in independent testing and I've not been disappointed. They are excellent in wet and dry conditions and appear to be proving a long lasting tyre with good fuel economy. On snow and ice they have proved to be leagues better than a normal summer tyre and only slightly less capable than Contintental WinterContact winter tyres I've used a lot previously. My only criticism is the price which is more than the competition - but I'll live with that if they last longer and give me better economy. Anyone who has driven a lot on snow and ice will be aware that modern winter tyres allow you to drive and travel through pretty much anything the UK can throw at you without coming remotely close to getting stuck or even spinning a wheel when it's snowy. Whereas even the best summer tyres are positively lethal when confronted with snow and ice generally leaving you with no traction whatsoever for starting, stopping or negotiating even the gentlest of bends. This is my second foray away from full winter tyres and onto All Season tyres following a set of Vredestein Quatrac fitted to my other car. The Quatracs were unavailable in the size needed for this car so I went for the Michelin CrossClimate 2 based on independent tyre tests. They're probably the best compromise available at present and a good choice for year round UK conditions - especially if you live further North. All in all, very impressed with them. Lovely to drive in the wet and dry and fairly close to the levels of grip and confidence I got on dedicated winter tyres in snowy and icy conditions. The worst conditions I've used them in so far were compacted snow polished into icy patches by other vehicles - no tarmac visible even on the main roads. Lots of vehicles completely stuck, town gridlocked, and even 4X4's on summer tyres struggling to get moving on any sort of slope. I was able to drive wherever I wanted, steep hills and all with no difficulty and didn't lock or spin a wheel once with plenty grip to spare. Not quite as good as a dedicated winter tyre but more than good enough to thread my way through all the abandoned vehicles and get home without any worry or effort. A key benefit was being able to avoid the gridlock by taking the hilly routes that everyone else was avoiding.

Really pleased with the michelin crossclimate 2 tyres. During my journey to work in the recent heavy snow, I was able to manoeuvre past cars that were struggling for grip and others that were driving way to slow. Even better in snow than the crossclimate + I have on my van

In cold / wet / sleet conditions these tyres are confidence inspiring. Previously had Michelin Primacy tyres which were good, but these are brilliant. Not had them through the summer yet so looking forward to seeing how they preform in warmer conditions.

Are brilliant and good on any condition

Good grip and wear resistance. New design is slightly noisier.

Excellent that grip in all weathers, particularly impressed in the rain though, they feel very safe.
